Salzburg Festival: Youth Tickets and Subscription go digital

The Salzburg Festival has been offering special subscriptions for years. They offer 6,000 tickets for opera, drama and concerts, with a reduction of up to 90% in various subscription formats. In 2018, the booking procedure for youth subscriptions was to be developed and digitalised. In collaboration with the Ticket Gretchen App and the corresponding easy-connect technology, young people now have the possibility to easily book their preferred subscriptions and event packages.

In 2020, due to 100 years of Salzburg Festival, the Salzburg Festival has been offering youth tickets for people under 27 years which were sold exklusive via Ticket Gretchen App.

The Salzburg Festival decided to block 6,000 tickets solely for young audiences, giving them access to stars like Sir Simon Rattle from a front row seat. This is what the tech side of things looks like:
Tickets are directly reserved within Salzburg Festival’s ticketing system (JetTicket), while a live interface allows subscribers to choose any available seat through the app.
